Bears Cutler FootballIn a press conference on Thursday, Chicago Bears’ quarterback Jay Cutler demanded a trade for the second consecutive offseason. He claims that leaders from the Jay Cutler Foundation questioned his ability and dedication to fighting diabetes.

“I tried to give myself to both the team and the charity, but I guess that wasn’t enough for the foundation,” said the quarterback. “We hadn’t gained many donations the previous year, so we brought in a new marketing expert, which was fine. But then, once he began to look for different celebrity endorsements, I knew I had to explore other options.”

His agent, Bus Cook, called the Jay Cutler Foundation “extremely misguided” in their efforts to find new spokespeople. Despite dedicating four to five hours a week for the charity, Cutler was “never viewed as a long term option as their leader on taking the offensive against diabetes,” said Cook. “The final straw from all of this is when they made an offer to use Kyle from South Park as an animated spokesman.” Kyle Broflovski, the fictional character from Comedy Central’s hit show has diabetes as well.

“I just feel disrespected,” said Cutler. “I went out there every week and tried to gain as many dollars as possible for this cause. But they obviously want to go in another direction.”

Cutler asked the foundation to either release him from his contract or to trade him to a diabetes charity more willing to utilize his strong, though lethargic, speaking style. Until then, he is holding out from the foundation’s fundraising events. Despite this setback, he is optimistic about his future.

“I think in the next couple weeks, some deal will be made to send me somewhere better.”

Although not explicitly stated, Cutler also inferred that working for the Jay Cutler Foundation hampered his ability to go party on Rush Street.
